Production process
- Taking of soil samples (information on type of soil, nutrient storage in the soil)
Own growing:
- Ploughing and making the ground ready for planting (all under our own direction and with our own machines)
- Planting of the potatoes (carefully selected seed potatoes)
- Weed control with our own spreader, just before the sprouting of the potato plant
- Pest control when the potato plant reaches flowerpot size, in accordance with PCA advice
- Based on test liftings and size grading, we decide whether to spray the variety.
- Three weeks after spraying, the potatoes are lifted. This period is necessary to allow the skin to harden. It is important that potatoes have a firm skin before they are lifted, to ensure that they will keep well and will not become discoloured after washing.
- The quality-tested and approved potatoes are placed in 1200kg crates in a mechanical cooling system for storage.
- The lifted potatoes are subjected to quality tests in our own laboratory.
- These cooled potatoes are subsequently taken out of the cooling system for processing and packing according to the customer's requirements.
